Calling all writers, directors, and actors!
AUGUST 25th-26th
HOW IT WORKS
We are excited to take part in this thrilling experience where ten new plays will be written, rehearsed, and performed in only 24 hours. We are using this event as a fundraiser, partnering with the Ute Pass Cultural Center to raise funds to purchase a new stage curtain.
We encourage you to apply - We need playwrights, directors, and actors! If you are selected, you'll be off and running to write, rehearse, and perform a new original work in just 24 short hours. What could go wrong?
THE FIRST NIGHT
The 24-Hour Play experience begins the evening before the performance with a meet-and-greet that includes the writers, directors, and actors. After some ice-breaker games and the assembly of creative teams, the rest of the group is dismissed, while the writers begin the creative process with an overnight writing session. By the next morning, their scripts are due.
THE NEXT DAY
Directors and actors return the next morning to the UPCC where rehearsals begin. After all-day rehearsals and a quick technical rehearsal, the house opens for an exciting evening of original theatre!
